Program Committee
holding meeting for the local music
community to discuss working together to
promote local music in Rhode Island
Meeting will be
held on Thursday, July 25, 7 pm at the
Met in Pawtucket
The Rhode Island
Music Hall of Fame Program Committee
will be holding a meeting of those
involved with the local music community
on Thursday, July 25, at 7 p.m. at The
Met in Pawtucket. The purpose of the
meeting is to discuss how members of the
music community and others might work
together to promote all aspects of local
music and assist in providing
opportunities for those wishing to
participate in it.
In addition to
inducting Hall of Fame members and
building its museum, RIMHOF is committed
to working with other agencies, artists
and community members to promote local
music and is developing programs to do
so. The goals of this meeting are to:
1) Discuss ideas the
RIMHOF program committee is considering;
2) Share information
about RIMHOF's current work and the work
of other entities in attendance;
3) Discuss the needs
of the music community and music-related
agencies;
4) Encourage
everyone to work together to promote
current programs and to develop new
ideas to assist the progress of artists,
educators, music-related businesses and
other organizations.
We will also discuss
the possibility of holding informal
get-togethers, perhaps quarterly, in an
effort to keep the lines of
communication open on an on-going basis.
Please pass this
invitation along to others via social
media and other means and invite anyone
you think might be interested in
attending. Please email us at
musicinri@gmail.com if you plan to
attend.
If you cannot
attend, please respond if you would like
hear about the meeting and would like to
take part in this process in the future.
Please enter The Met
through the main entrance at 999 Main
St., Pawtucket, RI 02860. The Met is on
the left and the Hall's exhibits are
straight ahead if you would like to view
them before the meeting begins.
We look forward to
seeing you on the 25th and thank you in
advance for any help you can provide
with this effort.
